Phil Gray reports:
'What a spiritual experience as Colworth played host to the annual Colworth
Marathon Challenge held over three days and addressing the marathon distance
in three stages: a 5 miles multi-terrain race - a 8.1 miles trail race and
concluding with a multi-terrain 13.1 miles. It was good to see so many
Harriers addressing the Colworth 5, while the Colworth 8.1 trail race was an
equally demanding event for all participants. Kevin Willett stealing the show
with a winning performance in 50.32 and well supported by Rob Miller, Donna
McEwen and Stuart Trevallion as they secured the team prize. Kevin had the
overall lead at this stage and further results will tell if he was the overall
winner. A seriously hot day on Saturday for yours truly and a lot of other
people who made the whole thing possible and great to capture some magical
images on camera. Well done to all who went the distance over the weekend and
thanks to Kevin and Andrea Ward who as well as lending me a functional digital
camera were attempting to complete the Colworth Marathon Challenge at the
first attempt. Thanks to all who helped out over the weekend and a special
thanks to the Colworth Massive led by Tony Dadd et al. A cracking weekend was
the end result.'
