The scenic parkland course, offering excellent  spectating, featured a series of testing gradients and smooth conditions underfoot, making for a fast pace right from the start. Tristan Windley ran a well-judged race over an unfamiliar distance, against some elite standard opposition, and should be in line for county selection, while  Tony Barnes was also at home over the longer than usual distance.
