Phil Gray Report on the Race:
'A dull September morn as yours truly was in action again. Well I suppose
someone has to do it. Why? A little matter of a popular Swineshead 10, which
attracted a lot more people than in 2004. Another reason was in the guise of
Sarah Kennedy, of 'Game For A Laugh' fame, who apparently lives locally, who
started the race and presented the prizes. A new course for 2005 and some
cracking times as well. Jim McMahon of Beds and County flying away to win in
55.35, with Richard Dorman setting a new p.b. of 58.57 to finish second and
Morgan Walters finishing third in 59.45 ish. Stuart Trevallion finishing sixth
as Bedford Harriers secured the team prize. Loads of p.b.s on the day as the
runners all completed a demanding 10 miles. Harriers were also officiating as
well in the guise of Tony Dadd, Kevin Willett and Steve Crane. I welcomed a
burger and bacon roll and a nice cup tea. Well done to all who went the distance
and to all who made the whole thing possible, including a certain Mr and Mrs
Salter. Jim McMahon needed a porter to carry his prizes as I headed home to a
hot shower and rest. Phew ! '
